Michigan reports more than 7,000 new coronavirus cases and 101 deaths – MLive.com
Michigan reported 7,528 new coronavirus cases and 101 deaths Saturday, Nov. 21.
It came one day after the state set a record high of 9,779 cases.
While the new cases remain high, state data shows a slight improvement in the number of positive cases compared to the total number of tests.
The percentage of positive cases dropped to 11.3 percent based on 88,526 tests. It was the lowest rate since a 10 percent positive rate on Nov. 6.
Saturday’s data also shows another high for total diagnostic tests conducted, passing Friday’s high of 84,223.
Health experts say the positive test ratio of 3 percent or less indicates control of virus spread and they recommend a rate of 5 percent or less for reopening schools.
