COLUMBUS, Ohio -Gov. Mike DeWine will update the public on the state’s response to the coronavirus Thursday, hours before Ohio’s curfew goes into effect.
Ohio’s curfew, for three weeks from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m., attempts to slow down the spread of COVID-19, which is spreading at exponential levels and leaving hospitals concerned about having enough staff, since many employees have the coronavirus.

At least 318,828 people have had coronavirus in Ohio. But that number is an undercount, because state and local health officials were trying to verify thousands of cases Wednesday. An Ohio Department of Health spokeswoman said the numbers were off due to the unprecedented volume of cases and unexpected system errors.
